My friend

Life is interesting. My friend, Mauro, and I met at a hostel in Seoul over a weekend. He was there for business and I was there for chillinnnn hahah. Simply, we clicked. We and a couple other hostel friends went out a few times and explored the city and it was good times every time. I felt like I would know Mauro forever, or just a long time haha. He’s a super cool guy, an Italian raised in Brazil and now lives in New York.
I looked back to an email from him, which I still haven’t replied to, or actually I’m in the process of replying to him right now but I just had to interrupt that reply to post something he said that spoke to me the first time I read it and again today. We are loosely talking about destiny, life, and purpose. Some of it sounds cliche but this is someone that I feel is living out those cliches and I can’t help but admire it.
This is not about money, it’s about the purpose, it is about believing and above all, love what you do, no matter how difficult or unlikely. The sun rises every day, every day we have a new opportunity.
If you ever want to achieve the life you’ve always dreamed of, you’ll have to start taking risks. It is absolutely necessary to take chances to achieve anything great in life, is scary to take the initial leap, as with any risk, there is always something at stake.
Taking chances requires some blind trust in most cases. Nothing is really guaranteed. However, you have to trust your instincts. Sometimes your gut is leading you down an unknown path but inside you know that something big is on the other side. Go for it, you’ll never know what all you can accomplish until you do something you’ve never done. Take the risk you’ll step into some of your biggest rewards.
Nobody is perfect. I spent a lot of time striving for perfection. I came to realize that I wasn’t perfect, and never would be. I now accept that I’m the most perfect “imperfect” human being on the planet. One who makes mistakes, has a less than perfect life, but still inspires others through my humanness.
I love it.
Mauro, I did not ask if you would mind sharing this but I don’t think you would. You’re now famous!!!! 3 people you don’t know now know you exist!! Hahaha. Thanks for being you. And I’m currently drafting a reply to that email so hang tight! Hahah.
Anyway, it has been such an awesome Saturday hanging with the Mom and Brother. I like life.
Happy Saturday.
